Meeting with The National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) located in Anand,
Gujarat NDDB Initiative

The National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) located in Anand, Gujarat has shown a keen interest in issues of Fluoride and Fluorosis in Gujarat. As a follow up to this the fluoride Knowledge and Action Network members met NDDB members and officials on November 7, 2013.

It was decided that the network would support NDDB to develop fluorosis communication for the affected areas of the Saurashtra region of Gujarat such as Amreli, Surendranagar and Porbandar districts.

The existing village level institutions such as milk cooperatives who have a close connection with the community, would be useful in both communicating ideas as well as in working towards solutions.

The network agreed to develop a position paper on Fluorosis in Gujarat by the end of November, 2013, and take this initiative ahead with a presentation on possible action.
